Ah yes, school days and the myriad ways in which to prepare ramen noodles on a budget! Sadly, those kind of recipes were not to be found inside the pages of this cookbook. Published in the UK, this book has recipes for bubble and squeak, toad in the hole and other British culinary main stays.

I know a couple of students – my niece Maddie, my nephew Jesse and David’s daughter Rien – who might enjoy this book.
